SIP Message Overflow Routing Scheme (SMORS)

چکیده
The 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) will use the Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) as a session signalling protocol in the IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) of next generation UMTS systems. Certain nodes on the signalling layer have to process a large number of SIP messages. This paper introduces a concept for efficient SIP message routing and user assignment. The SIP Message Overflow Routing Scheme (SMORS) scheme is defined that has two major advantages over existing persistent hash routing: The content or user location in SMORS is arbitrary and it provides overflow and backup routing capabilities.

SIP Routing Methodologies in 3GPP
This paper discusses methodologies for efficient Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) message routing on the application layer in the IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) of 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) UMTS networks. The contributions are twofold: Firstly, it introduces a generic multidimensional optimisation metric that can be used in conjunction with existing routing protocols. The metric...
متن کاملA Study of Dynamic Prediction Based Multi-queue (dpmq) Drop Policy in Ferry Based Protocols for Disconnected Mobile Ad Hoc Networks
Delay Tolerant Network (DTN) is an approach to address the technical issues in heterogeneous networks that may lack continuous network connectivity. The issues that are related to DTN are delivery probability, overhead, latency and drop rate. To improve message delivery probability and reduce network overhead, routing protocol and buffer management has to be selected efficiently. This scheme is...
متن کاملMessage Ferry Routing Algorithm for Data Collection in Partitioned and Buffer-Limited Wireless Sensor Networks
In some particular environments such as battlefield, disaster recovery and wide area surveillance, most existing routing algorithms will fail to deliver messages to their destinations. Thus, it is an important research issue of how to deliver data in disconnected wireless sensor networks. This paper presents two efficient message ferry routing algorithms, denoted as MFRA1 and MFRA2, for data co...
متن کاملEnhancements to SIP to prevent abuse of Voice-over-IP services
This paper reviews the IETF proposed enhancements to the Session Initialisation Protocol (SIP) to prevent the abuse of its implementation in Voice-over-IP (VoIP) communication services. We look at some of the benefits and drawbacks of these proposed enhancements to ensure trustworthy SIP message exchange. Many proxies assist in establishing of a SIP session. These proxies may modify the travers...
متن کاملA New Approach of Enhanced Buffer Management Policy in Delay Tolerant Network (DTN)
Delay tolerant-network is emerging technology in wireless communication. This network is applied generally when there is no end-to-end path from source to destination. In current TCP/IP technology communication is possible only when end-to-end path is available. But two major issues in DTN (Abbreviation) are routing and buffer management. Routing strategy determine which message should be forwa...
